Thomas H. Pohlman

Thomas H. Pohlman

President of Ames National Corporation and Chairman of First National Bank. Pohlman joined First National Bank in January of 1998 as Senior Vice President. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in December of 1998 and President in 1999. Pohlman was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ames National Corporation in 2006 and President in 2007. He is a graduate of Morningside College with over 30 years of banking experience in commercial, retail, and private banking as well as extensive work in lending and marketing. He has been involved in a variety of community activities including Iowa Bankers Association Mortgage Corporation, Ames Economic Development Commission, Chamber of Commerce and past president of United Way of Story County.

Scott T. Bauer

Scott T. Bauer

President of First National Bank. Bauer joined First National in 1986 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.B.A in Management. He has served in many capacities for the bank including Internal Auditor, Operations Officer and Lending Officer. Before his promotion to President in January of 2008, he was Executive Vice President with the major responsibility of overseeing the loan department. He is a graduate of both the Iowa School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. Bauer is the past chair of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and currently remains on the board and executive committee. He is the current treasurer of the Ames Education Foundation and chair of the Center for Creative Justice audit committee.

Investment Representative. Nelson joined First National Bank in 2001 when they introduced First National Investment Services. He continues to provide a variety of financial planning services as well as investment expertise to the Trust Department's Investment Committee. Prior to joining First National, Nelson was a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch for five years. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Finance. He obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(tm) certification in 2012. Nelson also serves the Ames community as a member of Toastmasters' International, Ames Rotary, ARC of Story County and the Octagon Endowment Committee.

Pamela K. Fleener

Pamela K. Fleener

Vice President and Senior Trust Officer. Fleener joined First National Bank in 1986 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.B.A. in Finance. Fleener began employment as an officer trainee and joined the Trust Department in 1988. She serves the Trust Department as a member of the trust investment committee and account administrator. Fleener is a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust Administration School. She also attended the Cannon Financial Institute's Fiduciary Investment Management School. Fleener serves the Ames community as a member of the Board of Directors of Northcrest Inc. In addition to her role as a board member, Fleener serves on the Board Nominating and Physical Facilities Committees is chair of the Admissions Committee. Fleener is on the Youth & Shelter Services Foundation Board and co-chair of the Friends Fund Development Committee. She is also an active volunteer for the United Way of Story County and the Story County Chapter of Pheasants Forever.

Vice President and Trust Officer. Rahn joined First National Bank in 2012 and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and the Iowa School of Banking. Rahn obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER? certification in 2010. Prior to joining First National Bank, he worked for several financial services companies since 1993 and has over 20 years of professional work experience with Fortune 500 companies including, 3M Company, American Express and the Principal Financial Group. Rahn began his banking career with his hometown community bank, Cherokee State Bank, in 2000 and has spent the last several years of his banking career in the trust and investment management services field as an investment portfolio manager and trust administrator with a large trust division of a community bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rahn has served on several boards of non-profit, charitable and church organizations.

Vice President and Trust Officer. Bourke began employment at First National Bank in 1984 and joined the Trust Department in 1992. Bourke received a B.S. from Iowa State University with a degree in Business Administration. She has served the bank in many capacities including Assistant Cashier and Internal Auditor. Bourke serves in account administration for the Trust Department. She is also a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust Administration School. Bourke has served the Ames community as treasurer for Heartland Senior Services. She is currently on the board for United Way of Story County Endowment Professional Advisory and is the secretary/treasurer of the Northcrest Foundation.

Trust Officer. Gawtry joined First National Bank in 2007. Gawtry has been in financial services since 1980 and has 20 years of experience in trust administration. Prior to joining First National Bank, she worked eight years as a financial consultant for Wells Fargo Private Client Services. She graduated from Iowa Central in Fort Dodge from the Business Management Program. Gawtry is a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services. Gawtry held the NASD Series 7, 6, 65 & 63 securities licenses, and currently holds the Iowa Life, Health and Variable Annuity licenses. Gawtry has been involved in the community of Ankeny as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and board member of New Horizons Adult Day Center of Ankeny.

Trust Officer. Kain began employment in 1997 with the Trust Department after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Finance. Kain is also a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust Operations. Kain serves on the INFOVISA Trust Software User Steering Committee. Kain is involved in the community as a Loaned Executive volunteer for United Way of Story County and as a board member and treasurer for Ames Community Preschool Center.

Vice President & Private Banker. Anderson joined First National Bank in 1978 after graduating from Iowa State University. Anderson has spent nearly 20 years working in the Financial Management & Trust Services area, focused on client care and business development. Anderson is an active Ames community member and currently serves as President of the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation Board and is a member of the Women with Initiative, Rotary and the CY Stephens Performing Arts Council. She also is a member of PEO and Beta Tau Delta

Stacy J. Dreyer

Stacy J. Dreyer

Private Banker. Dreyer joined First National Bank in 2008 and has over ten years of banking experience, including: business development, personal, commercial, mortgage and community relations. She graduated from Minot State University in North Dakota with a finance degree. Dreyer has a high level of commitment to customer service and to the community. She currently serves as: Mary Greeley Medical Center Auxiliary Executive Board Member and Past President, Main Street Cultural District Executive Board Member, Treasurer and Past President, Ames Foundation Board Treasurer, ISU Alumni Association Board Associate, Ames Public Library Leadership Task Force, Ames Chamber Ambassador and a member of the Young Professionals of Ames. Most recently, Dreyer was recognized as a YPA 4 Under 40 Award recipient, a Chamber Community Involvement award winner and the Main Street Cultural District Volunteer of the Year.

Private Banker. Petersen joined First National Bank in 2008 and was promoted to Branch Manager at the Ankeny Office in 2009. She is a 2008 graduate of William Penn University with a Bachelors of Science in Business. Petersen has been a strong community leader, serving as Chair of the Ankeny Young Professionals, graduate of the Ankeny Leadership Academy, and as a board member for the Ankeny Jaycees and Ankeny Builders Association. Most recently, Petersen was recognized as the 2011 Ambassador of the Year. Petersen takes great pride in meeting the financial needs of her clients. Exceeding customer service expectations is Petersen's number one priority.
