Thomas H. Pohlman

Thomas H. Pohlman

President and CEO of Ames National Corporation and Chairman of First National Bank. Pohlman joined First National Bank in January of 1998 as Senior Vice President. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in December of 1998 and President in 1999. Pohlman was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ames National Corporation in 2006 and President in 2007. He is a graduate of Morningside College with more than 35 years of banking experience in commercial, retail and private banking, as well as extensive work in lending and marketing. He's very involved in the community including Ames Economic Development Commission, past president of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and past president of United Way of Story County. He is currently pass chairman of the Iowa Bankers Association and on the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation Board.

John Nelson

John Nelson

Vice President and CFO of Ames National Corporation. Nelson joined Ames National Corporation in 1993 as Assistant Vice President and Company Auditor. He was promoted to Vice President in 1998 and to CFO in 2000. Prior to joining Ames National Corporation, Nelson was a commissioned bank examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Educational achievements include: graduating from Iowa State University with honors as a Finance major, successfully completing the certified public accountant examination and graduating from the Iowa School of Banking. Community activities include: serving on the Gilbert Community School Board, Faith Formation Instructor for St. Cecilia Church, serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus and graduated from Leadership Ames.

Scott T. Bauer

Scott T. Bauer

President of First National Bank. Bauer joined First National in 1986 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.B.A. in Management. He has served in many capacities for the bank including Internal Auditor, Operations Officer and Lending Officer. Before his promotion to President in January of 2008, he was Executive Vice President with the major responsibility of overseeing the loan department. He is a graduate of both the Iowa School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. Bauer currently serves Audit and Finance committees of the ISU Alumni Association and sits on the board for the Iowa Bankers Association and Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corporation.

Pamela K. Fleener

Pamela K. Fleener

Vice President & Senior Wealth Management Advisor. Fleener began employment with First National Bank in 1986 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.B.A. in Finance. She joined the Trust Department in 1988. She was named Senior Trust Officer in 2007 and currently serves the Wealth Management Financial Services Department as manager, a member of the Trust Investment Committee and account administrator.Fleener is a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust Administration School. She also attended the Cannon Financial Institutes Fiduciary Investment Management School. Fleener currently serves the Ames community as Vice President of the Northcrest Foundation, member of Ames Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee and Youth & Shelter Services Friends Fund Development Committee.She is also an active volunteer for the Gilbert Education Foundation, United Way of Story County and the Story County Chapter of Pheasants Forever.

Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor. Rahn joined First National Bank in 2012 and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. Rahn obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®certification in 2010. Prior to joining First National Bank, he worked for 3M in Ames as an Industrial Engineer. Rahn has over 20 years of experience with financial service companies and banks including Ameriprise Express and Principal Financial Group.He began his banking career with his hometown community bank, Cherokee State Bank, in 2000. He has spent the last several years in financial planning, investment portfolio management, and trust administration. This includes five years with a $2 billion trust division of a community bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rahn is actively involved in the Ames community as a member of the Ames Noon Rotary Club and the Finance Council of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.

Vice President and Trust Officer. Bourke began employment at First National Bank in 1984 and joined the Trust Department in 1992. Bourke is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Business Administration. She has served the bank in many capacities including Assistant Cashier and Internal Auditor. Bourke serves in account administration for the Trust Department. She is also a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust Administration School. Bourke has served the Ames community as treasurer for Heartland Senior Services. She is currently on the board for United Way of Story County Endowment Professional Advisory and is the secretary/treasurer of the Northcrest Foundation.

Trust Officer. Gawtry joined First National Bank in 2007. Gawtry has been in financial services since 1980 and has 20 years of experience in trust administration. Prior to joining First National Bank, she worked eight years as a financial consultant for Wells Fargo Private Client Services. She graduated from Iowa Central in Fort Dodge from the Business Management Program. Gawtry is a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services. Gawtry held the NASD Series 7, 6, 65 & 63 securities licenses, and currently holds the Iowa Life, Health and Variable Annuity licenses. Gawtry has been involved in the community of Ankeny as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and board member of New Horizons Adult Day Center of Ankeny.

Trust Officer. Kain began employment at First National Bank in 1996 and joined the Trust Department in 1997 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Finance. Kain is also a graduate of Schools of Banking for Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust Operations. Kain serves on the INFOVISA Trust Software User Steering Committee. Kain is involved in the community as a Loaned Executive volunteer for United Way of Story County and as a board member and treasurer for Ames Community Preschool Center.

Investment Analyst. Johnson joined First National Bank in 2013. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Finance and Economics, and from the University of Iowa with a M.B.A in Investment Management. Johnson obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst certification in August 2010. Prior to joining First National Bank, Johnson began his career in Cedar Rapids at GreatAmerica Financial Services in 2007. After four years of commercial credit analysis, he returned to school to pursue his M.B.A. at the University of Iowa where he graduated with distinction. During his M.B.A. program, Johnson interned as an equity research analyst for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, the ninth largest public pension plan in the U.S. which manages approximately $85 billion in assets. Johnson, born and raised in Ames, is eager to become involved in the Ames Community.

Vice President & Private Banker. Anderson joined First National Bank in 1978 after graduating from Iowa State University. Anderson has spent nearly 25 years working in the Financial Management & Trust Services area, focused on client care and business development. Anderson is an active Ames community member and currently serves as President Elect for Ames Noon Rotary, Past President of the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation Board and is a board member of the Women with Initiative, andthe CY Stephens Performing Arts Council. She is a member of PEO and Beta Tau Delta.

Vice President & Private Banker. Dreyer joined First National Bank in 2008 and has more than fourteen years of banking experience, including: business development, personal, commercial, construction and community relations. She graduated from Minot State University in North Dakota with a finance degree. Dreyer has a high level of commitment to customer service and to the community.She currently serves as: Ames Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Ames Foundation Board Member and Ambassador, ISU Alumni Association Board Associate and Cardinal and Gold Gala Auction Chair, and Eagles Youth Football Board Secretary. Dreyer has been recognized as Volunteer of the Year - Leadership for Mary Greeley Medical Center, YPA 4 Under 40 Award recipient, a Chamber Community Involvement award winner and the Main Street Cultural District Volunteer of the Year.Recognized a YPA 4 Under 40 Award recipient, a Chamber Community Involvement award winner and the Main Street Cultural District Volunteer of the Year.

Private Banker. Walter joined First National Bank in August 2013 and is a 2002 Graduate of Faith Baptist College in Ankeny, with a B.S. in Education & Counseling. Walter has 13 years of business experience and has been the owner of Walnut Street Gallery in Ankeny since 2007. In 2000, Walter began working at Walnut Street Gallery as a college student. Currently, Walter serves on the Executive Board of the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce and is very active in the Ankeny business community. Walter was the 2010 President of the Uptown Ankeny association, has been a member of the Ankeny Rotary, is an involved church member and continues to serve on many committees that benefit the Ankeny community.
