In its efforts to stimulate the economy and revive the housing market,
Congress has enacted legislation providing a tax credit of up to $8,000
for first-time home buyers. This is a tax credit, not a deduction. The $8000
credit can be filed on an amended 2008 Federal Tax Return, putting those
dollars in your hands yet this year!
If you buy your first home between January 1, 2009, and December 1,
2009, and fall within the income limits ($75,000 for individuals,
$150,000 for couples), you could qualify for an up to $8,000 tax credit.
And even better, this is not a loan; so you never need to pay it back! Click here to learn more.
